Armani Prive: Twenty years of haute couture
A cheeky break to northern Italy last week enabled me to pop to the Armani Silos to view with wonder the Armani Prive (private) exhibition. This is the third Armani exhibition I have attended, the first being at the Royal Academy in London in 2003 and the second at Armani Silos in 2019, both showing the ready to wear archive created over his lengthy career. This exhibition shows his haute couture work up close and personal, it was oh so tempting to touch some of these stunning outfits (don’t worry, I didn’t). Whilst many the designs are simple with their clean lines and shapes, the difference from the main Armani line is the luxurious fabrics and embellishments (in some cases beautiful fabrics has been overlaid with beaded tulles). Each design has clearly been handcrafted and will have taken many, many hours to create. As you can image, I photographed everything, however to spare you boredom, below are a few of my favourites.
